Toradex Colibri VF50 and VF61 Guide

Follow the steps in this documentation when you are preparing targets Toradex Colibri VF61 or Toradex Colibri VF50 for Boot to Qt on Linux.

Use Flashing Wizard to flash the image to your device:

  • Connect your SD card reader to the development host. Make sure that the SD card size is at least 2 GB.
  • Launch Qt Creator.
  • Select Tools > Flash Boot to Qt Device, and follow the instructions in Flashing Wizard.

In order to boot from the external SD card, U-Boot needs to be updated. See Booting from External SD Card.

It is possible to use the Toradex Capacitive Multi-Touch Adapter with Boot to Qt. See Using the Toradex Capacitive Multi-Touch Adapter.

Booting from External SD Card

In order to boot from an external SD card, U-Boot needs to be modified. Connect a serial cable to the device and enter into the U-Boot environment by pressing any key before the autoboot.

Enter following commands into U-Boot:

run setupdate
run update

Reset or power cycle the device to continue.

To reset the U-Boot environment to new default values, enter the following commands in the U-Boot command line:

env default -a
saveenv

New U-Boot commands are now stored into the device.

Using the Toradex Capacitive Multi-Touch Adapter

It is possible to use the Toradex Capacitive Multi-Touch Adapter with Boot to Qt.

First follow the instuctions for setting up your screen here.

To enable touch support for your screen in Boot to Qt append the following lines to /etc/appcontroller.conf and uncomment line for the VF module being used.
