Quick Tour

This section describes the emulator interface.

"Emulator Control dialog"

The emulator displays a device with the home screen open (4). You can access your application from there. To interact with the device, use the mouse and keyboard. To move the device window, drag the device frame when the cursor changes to hand shape (at the top or bottom of the window).

The Emulator Control dialog provides the following controls:

  • Quick access buttons (1) - Check how the application handles changes in battery level and power state, as well as run your favorite scripts.
  • Menu (2) - Open emulator control views.
  • Views (3) - Adjust the properties of the emulated device and see how the application looks with different device orientations.

To filter views, enter a setting name into the search field (5).

"Search field and Advanced settings button"

Click the Advanced Options button (6) on the title bar of a view to show advanced and rarely used settings.
