Requirements for Windows

Instructions in this documentation assume Windows 10 64-bit or later.

Requirements for connecting embedded Linux devices

OpenSSH is used the for connections to remote embedded Linux devices during deployment and debugging. The OpenSSH suite is not delivered with Qt Creator, so you must download it and install it on your development PC.

There are several alternative OpenSSH downloads available. For example, the Git Windows installation package comes with the OpenSSH clients. For more information, see Git Downloads.

For more information how to configure Qt Creator for OpenSSH and embedded Linux devices, see Connecting Embedded Linux Devices.

Installing platform dependencies

Qt Onboard is using Docker-based toolchains on Windows. This means that before attempting to install Qt Onboard from Qt Online Installer, you must have Docker Desktop for Windows installed and running.

Qt Creator provides support for using Docker toolchains in the same way as normal toolchains.

Available under certain Qt licenses.
