Installing Qt for Android Automotive

Note: The intended audience for this page is developers.

If you have not already done so please contact Qt sales to discuss access to the Qt for Android Automotive deliverable for your Qt Account.

Before starting, check if there are any instructions regarding current Qt for Android Automotive Known Issues and Limitations that are relevant to installation.

Quick install with the Qt Online Installer

Go to Get and Install Qt and follow the instructions there, making sure at step 3 to select Qt 6.X for Android Automotive.

Then move on to Installing 3rd Party Dependencies.

Custom install with the Qt Online Installer

If you want to install additional Qt modules or tools at the same time, then this method is for you.

Go to Get and Install Qt and follow the instructions there, except now as opposed to the quick install method, making sure at step 3 to select Custom Installation and then select the following components:

  • Qt for Android Automotive
  • Under the same Qt Version that you selected for Qt for Android Automotive, select:
    • Qt for Android
    • Qt Quick Timeline
    • Under Add-ons select the following:
      • Qt Interface Framework
      • Qt Remote Objects

Then select other Qt modules or tools that are available to you.

Setup for developing for Android with Qt Creator

If this is your first time installing Qt for Android Automotive, developing with Qt for Android, or using Qt Creator, you'll need to complete some additional steps to set up your build environment. See Getting Started with Qt for Android for more information.
