Install client-side tools
With Cloud Qt License Server, the client-side tools on the developer workstation are the only thing you install. Qt License Service uses the Qt-hosted server by default, so you don't need to configure a server address.
Qt License Service is the background process that requests and renews license reservations on the developer's computer. mocwrapper lets Qt Framework builds reserve a license.
Qt License Service is installed automatically with Qt Tools. Install it manually only if you need to, for example when setting up a build machine without a full Qt installation.
- Get Qt Online Installer from Qt Customer Portal.
- Install Qt Tools on your workstation. Qt License Service is installed automatically. For a manual installation, see Install Qt License Service manually.
- If you build Qt Framework from sources, Set up mocwrapper for Qt Framework.
- Test the connection to Cloud Qt License Server.
Test the connection
To ensure you have installed and configured Qt License Service properly, test the connection to Qt License Server. Ping the server to get its version:
qtlicensetool --serverversionqtlicensetool.exe --serverversionIf you get back a version number, the connection works properly.
