Cloud: Maintain access control lists

When using the cloud Qt License Server backend, the license owner of a site or floating license can control which users can access the license in Qt Customer Portal. For a given license, add users into the access control list (ACL) to control who can use the license.

Note: These steps are applicable only for site and floating licenses when using the cloud Qt License Server backend.

View users on the ACL

To view a list of users on your ACL along with their roles:

  1. In your Qt Customer Portal, select My Licenses (1).

  2. From the table of licenses, select the license number of the license (2).
  3. Select Manage Users (3).

Add a user to the ACL

To add a new user to the ACL:

  1. Go to the Manage Users tab, as described in View users on the ACL.
  2. On the Manage Users tab, select Add new user.
  3. In User (1), select the new user.

    If you can't find the user in the User list, select New Contact (3), and add the user's information.

  4. In Role (2), select the role for the user.
RoleDescription
License manager
  • The owner of the license.
  • Can add and remove users.

Note: This option is not visible on the Role list.

Admin
  • Can add and remove users. (Not for QA.)
  • Can reserve the license.
User
  • Can reserve the license.
Deputy license manager
  • Can add and remove users.
  • Can reserve the license.
  1. Select Assign User (4).

Update user information

To update information of a user in the ACL:

  1. Go to the Manage Users tab, as described in View users on the ACL.
  2. On the Manage Users tab, select the Delete button (1).

  3. Add the user with the new information as described in Add a user to the ACL.
