What to ask the assistant
Be specific about what you want, select the object you mean, and ask for one change at a time. The examples below show what works well.
Examples
| Ask | What the assistant does |
|---|---|
| "Which pages and layers does the open project have? Answer in two short sentences." | Reads the project and describes its structure. |
| "Change the fill color of the layer called Card to a dark blue, #1b2a41." | Finds the layer and sets its fill color. |
| "Make this a rounded card with a radius of 24." (with the object selected) | Looks at your selection and sets the corner radius. |
| "Make all headings 28 px and semibold." | Finds the text objects that are headings and sets their size and weight. |
| "Give the selected card a gradient from orange to cream." | Adds a gradient to the fill of the selected shape. |
| "Create a login screen with a title, two input fields, and a button." | Creates frames, shapes, and text for the screen. |
| "Replace the logo with the image at C:\Images\logo.png." | Imports the image as an asset and shows it in the logo. |
| "Check that the result looks right." | Looks at the rendered picture of the object and tells you what it sees. |
These are examples. The assistant answers in your language and handles many variations.
Tips for good results
- Select first. When you say "this" or "the selected object", the assistant looks at your selection.
- Name layers well. Layers named Top Bar or Slider Knob are easier to find than Rectangle 37. See Pages and layers.
- Say what you want, with values. "Corner radius 24" works better than "more rounded".
- One change at a time. For a big task, ask for one part first, check it on the canvas, and continue.
- Ask it to check. The assistant can look at the rendered result and point out problems.
- Undo is your friend. Press
Ctrl+Zto take back what the assistant did. The assistant cannot undo for you.
What the assistant cannot do
The assistant works through Clate's design tools. These are out of its reach:
- Font families, dashed lines, line caps, joins, and other settings that it cannot change in the project.
- Opening or switching projects, changing your selection, and undoing changes.
- Exporting to QML or other formats. Use Export to QML... in the main menu yourself.
When a task is out of reach, the assistant tells you. See What an AI can do for the complete list.
